Where to eat near VNP

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a good place to eat dinner near the Volcano Park?

Thanks,

Erica

Kilauea Lodge. Be sure to book months in advance.

Anything a little more casual?

Thanks,

Erica

There is a Thai (maybe named Thai Bhat) restuarant and I think it is near the hardware store - if fact, I've heard it is owned by the same people that own the hardware store. I've never eaten there, but have heard good reports. If we are hiking to the lava, we usually take food in an ice chest, because we like to get there before dark and stay later, so dinner would be really early or really late for us. Have a great time!

Volcano House (restaurant in the park) does a very nice dinner. We had seafood and it was very, very good! Their lunch buffets are crowded with tour buses, but the dinner crown was nonexsitent. The hotel lobby has some awesome maps of the park, too. :-)

The Thai restaurant is great. Casual. Wonderful food. Owned by the same folks that own the True Value hardware store and is next door. I was bit a surprised when I call to make res's and the hardware store answered.

We stumbled upon it but found later it is a highly recommended restaurant on the island. Its name is Thai Thai.
