Where to eat in Stowe, VT.

Heading up to Stowe on Friday for 3 nites with husband, twin 17 yr old girls and myself. Would like some ideas for great food in a casual atmosphere. Seafood, pasta, steak, mexican anything really. Does anybody here have any first hand experience? Thanks a bunch!

Everybody should have the priviledge of living in a town like Stowe.

It will be easy for you to find places to eat but my two recommendations are:

1. Partridge Inn on Mountain Road - The lobster bisque is absolutely amazing.

2. The Dutch Pancake Cafe also on Mountain Road - Something like 88 different pancakes. Worth a day's drive from NYC for me!

Have fun!
not that it would provide a whole meal, but i recommend a side trip to the ben and jerry ice cream factory in waterbury. the tour was only $1 when we went, and you get to taste the flavor they are making that day. enjoy!

I've been to several that I liked about 3 years ago.

Mes Ami is a French Bistro - very nice food in a cozy atmosphere. It's not stuffy French, definitely more bistro style.

Mr. Pickwick's - serves British pub food. Again, the atmosphere is charming. The food is very good, but not as good as Mes Ami.

They're both on Mountain Rd. Almost next to each other.

Have fun!

Thank you for all the help. They all sound great and hopefully I'll get to try each one.
Thanks again!

Ten Acres Lodge, a bit south and west of town on the way to the Trapp Family complex, has an outstanding restaurant that has been recognized in some national travel and food magazines. Very nice wine list as well.

Cool, I love wine! Thanks flyfish!

Haven't been up there in about 4 years, so I'm not sure if it is still there, but my sons love Whisker's, decorated with lots of fun antiques & junque. Food is good. For something different, there is a restaurant that specializes in Fondues (can't remember the name, but if it is still in business you'll find it easily - the town of Stowe is not very big).

Enjoy.

Kat
