Where to Eat Alone In Chicago?
I am visiting Chicago soon - any ideas of where to eat alone where you do not feel too conspicuous?
|
Anywhere you want, just sit up at the bar. I live in Chicago (not that that makes a difference) I eat alone out here a lot and also when I travel. No big deal. Just get a seat at the bar, and you'll be fine.

Doris right but this is especially true at anywhere in the Loop (the central business district) where it is not uncommon to see people eating alone.)

Do you like sushi? If so ... go to a sushi place where they always have seats right at the sushi bar and you can watch the sushi chefs do their thing! Very common to see people sitting there by themselves. I would recommend Sushi Wabi in the West Loop or Kamehachi in Old Town.

I have not been in Chicago much since I moved but there are a few oplaces that I remember. The more informal the place the less conspicuous you will feel. Here are a few places: In the Water Tower there is a top notch station themed food court. This is quality and not fast food. Check out the more famous pizza joints (Unos, Gino's East). R J Grunts in Lincoln Park is always good.

My last time in Chicago, I didn't get a chance to eat alone but I did eat at Sushi Wabi and I just wanted to say it was terrific. Best sushi I've ever had, anywhere. Get the T-Rex Roll.
