Where to eat after the Macy's Parade?
Can anyone give suggestions as to where the best place to eat Thanksgiving Dinner in NYC is after the Parade? We're a group of 8, including 3 children ages 2.5, 5 and 7. Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

I would suggest going to Mars2112 or Elen's Stardust diner.

They're both fun for kids and have good food.. check out their sites.

They're located on Broadway, one is around 52nd Street and the other is around 53rd Street.. great places for kids..

http://www.ellensstardustdiner.com/
http://www.mars2112.com/

ENJOY!!

I was only there once on T-day and all the restaurants near the parade route and near Rockefeller Center were packed with lines out the door after the parade was over. We went back to our hotel (Hilton?) a few blocks south of Central Park and found a great buffet with no one there. Only worth it if they have a kid's price.

Where will you be watching the parade from, or where will you be staying, so we can help with places nearby? The parade route covers a fair amount of territory.

Marlena

Connie,
Depends on where you'll be on the parade route. If you're near Macy's Department Store, there's not much around. One decent place: Tick Tock Diner at the corner of 8th and 34th, one block west of Macy's.
Walk a few blocks north to Carmine's, a New York institution that serves globs of good, family-style Italian, as Zagat's calls it. It consistently ranks in New York's lists of top 20 popular eateries, and it's affordable. It's at 200 W. 44th St between Broadway and Eighth Ave.
Then again, for comfort good, there's Dallas BBQ at 43rd between Broadway and 6th Avenue.
