Where to buy tickets for Mamma Mia?
Will be visiting New York City for 4 days/3 nights (Monday-Thursday) in late August. I'd like to buy 2 tickets to see Mamma Mia. Do I call the box office or buy on line now or wait until we arrive to buy in person?? This will be my first visit to NYC so I'm unclear where to get the best seats and/or the best price. If buying online is adviseable, could you tell me a good website. Thank you. Linda

Mamma Mia tickets are not discounted, so if you want to see the show, order in advance. You can not order tickets through the box off, you must go in person. Ticketmaster.com handles most of the Broadway shows and you can see the specific seats before ordering. You can also order through Ticketmaster by phone.
Generally seats ordered a month or two in advance won't be great. Usually best seats are offered well in advance (6 months) or on the day of the performance when house seats MAY be released.
I know you didn't ask, but we didn't care for the show. Much prefered Modern Millie, Producers, Aida, Hairspray, Lion King, even Beauty & The Beast. JMO.

We saw Mamma Mia in Toronto and it was one of the liveliest, fun musicals ever! It couldn't have been easy to make an enjoyable story based on ABBA songs, but they did it, and the whole audience was rockin'! I see some others posting didn't care for it, but everyone's taste is different. We loved it!

Saw Mamma Mia last Aug playing in Chicago, loved it. Then past Dec in NYC----got standing for $30 at the theatre. Go there and find out when they sell standing if that's the way you want to try. I always do standing, more comfortable for my bad back and can dance around gt;) in the back. Also, if there end up being seats vacant, you can sit down. Couple of years ago saw six shows in four days for $l25. I love NY!
