Go to www.pamsazhomes.com or www.thetylerteam.com and do an MLS search for a specific size and age home/condo/etc in Fountain Hills and you will get an idea. You can also search for empty lots as well.

The greater Phoenix area is still a very good deal in relation to other markets. The lower priced things are climbing more rapidly as new investers feel safer buying in the lower price range. I watched little apartment style condos soar from $119K to $185K in the time from end of April to beginning of June. There are very very few properties available under $300K. I talked to a waiter who moved to FHs 6 weeks ago. Bought an old 1bdrm, 1 bath apt. for $80K and the same size units are now selling for $130 in bidding wars among investors.

Houses are more expensive but a better deal starting at about $425K and going to well, whatever you want to pay.

A friend is a landscape architect who is working on several major projects in FHs. She lays out the streets, divides land into lots and figures out the position of homes on lots as well as landscaping the common areas. Both projects are selling million dollar lots.

Glad to have been a help.

There was an article in the paper today about the number of expensive homes (very large homes!) in Fountain Hills.

Fountain Hills just dedicated a very nice Veteran's Memorial down by the lake.

bigtyke- glad you popped on so I can give you a proper "thanks" for pointing me in the direction of FHs!

We arrived in Phoenix on a Sat. and drove around FHs and loved the town. Went to a bunch of open houses on Sun and decided we couldn't afford it. Saw dozens of houses in Gold Canyon and East Mesa on Monday and didn't like the thought of riding our bikes on busy streets to get to the "good stuff". Toured condos in FHs on Tuesday- perfect for our needs!
