where to buy beer/champagne near Ritz Carlton, Laguna?

We will be renting a car at the San Diego airport and then driving up to the Ritz in Laguna (Dana Point? I'm confused about which it is.) We'd like to stop and get some bubbly on the way. Is there somewhere that's not too far out of the way? (We'll be jet-lagging and tired.)
And am I correct that the drive should take about an hour and fifteen minutes?
Thank you.

Technically, the Ritz is Laguna Niguel. It's the north end of Monarch Beach- Dana Point bordering South Laguna Beach. With that said, it's not important.

Heading north on 5, exit Beach Cities exit( PCH). Continue north.

Heading up PCH, you can go to Trader Joe's which is about a mile up Golden Lantern on the left hand side.

OR

The most convenient would be Gelson's Market on PCH just past the Ritz, on the right hand side.

Your drive should be around an hour without traffic.

Enjoy!

There's a Trader Joe's just a half mile off Freeway 5 in Oceanside, on your drive up from San Diego. Good place to pick up some snacks if your famished, too.
Take exit 51B (CA-78 East) toward Escondido
Ahead exit at Jefferson (Exit 1C), left onto Jefferson
Take first right (Vista Way)

Is the Oceanside TJ's more practical for us than the earlier mentioned one?
Thank you.

Not really, IMO. It's 30 or so minutes away.

The Golden Lantern TJ's is approx. 2 miles away from the Ritz. Very easy to find.

Thanks again, everyone. We're back from a great trip. Did Trader Joe's on the way to the hotel and it was fine.

Costco has a far superior selection to TJ's. Alternative is any Vons supermarket.
