Where to be for Christmas with Snow?

My husband, me and my 5 yr old boy want to be somewhere snowy and Christmas-ish in the U.S. for Christmas? Any ideas?

How about a snowy Christmas in a Victorian-style town in the Colorado mountains? Crested Butte is beautiful in the winter-- it even has horse-drawn sleighs on main street. Other choices could be Aspen and Telluride.

MaureenB - thank you, will definitely look into Crested Butte!

I just noticed you specified "in the U.S.". Are you traveling from another country? If so, you might want to stay closer to a coast, for shorter travel distance-- like Vermont, upstate New York, or someplace like that. Otherwise, Colorado has lots of options.

If you are considering Canada as an option, we've spent many Christmas's up at Whistler. The Chateau Whistler up there is just magical, that time of year.

Well, I can say that up here in WI I have had a white Christmas every year that I have lived here. It is sorta a given. When I lived in CO we did not always have snow, but that was in Fort Collins. Mountain resorts are different.
