Where should we go from Buffalo and NYC?

Helllo everyone.
This is a tough one! I am trying to plan a surprise for my husband's 29th bday. We live in the New York City metro area, and his family lives in Buffalo. I am trying to find a place to go away for President's Day weekend where we can all meet. Would prefer to drive to keep the costs manageable... The other downside is that no one is really into the skiing thing.
Any ideas? I would appreciate any help on this!!!
Thanks,

Hi Monica, how about meeting your family half way. May I suggest the Glen Sanders Mansion on the Mohawk Rive. They have a great banquet room and the rooms are clean and beautiful. The drive from Buffalo should be under three to four hours. Glen Sanders is in Scotia, New York. We make a special trip there every year.

hi monica -
since you know the buffalo area - we were planning to go to the niagara falls this weekend - do you think it's too cold this time of year, or can we still appreciate the beauty of the falls in this cold weather?

Yes, you can enjoy the beauty of the falls in winter. It is actually quite beautiful and peaceful. However, it will be bone-chilling cold!!!!!! I suggest viewing the falls from both sides.

"Sorry" to the original poster. I answered someone else's question about the falls, but didn't offer you anything. What about Corning? At least there would be a few attractions, and I'm sure you could find a decent resort or hotel for the family.
