Where on Maui Should 3 Twenty-Something Girls Go?

Our family's friends have a house on the Big Island near Kona where I have been lucky enough to visit several times. I love it there, but this March I am going with two girlfriends and wanted to explore another island as well. Between Maui and Kauai I'm thinking Kauai should be saved for a romantic trip and Maui might be more fun for single girls...Agreed? We're not looking to "party" of course but we are looking for a nice balance of enjoying the serene beaches where we can peacefully relax as well as some potential nightlife where it's not strictly families and newlyweds. Any suggestions for areas of the island and specific hotels? Thanks!

Stay in Wailea for the great beaches and easy access to Kihei, go to Lahaina for nightlife (designated driver, please!), and don't forget to have a fun day trip to Hana (waterfall swimming and the black sand beach/lava tube swimming at the state park along the way).

Stay in Lahaina or Kaanapali.
No problems with driving in the dark etc.

I think that Kannapali would be the most fun for you. Lahaina is a short trip away for more nightlife options, but there are plenty in Kannapali, too. I think of Wailea as more couples and family.

I vote for Kanapali or Lahaina also. I hear the condo's at Lahaina Shores are great.

Lahaina Shores is where I stayed. Decent prices, nice pool and narrow beach out back, right on Front Street a short walking distance to all the shops, galleries, restaurants, bars, etc. in Lahaina. Note this is just a hotel not a resort and nothing fancy about it.

The only problem with Lahaina is the lack of beaches for lolling.

Thanks so much for the great info! Are there any other resorts in Lahaina or Kaanapali that anyone suggests?

We stayed at Lahaina Shores as well and enjoyed it very much and it was a really great price and close to everything. We would have no problem staying there again.

I don't know about you guys, but each time I've gone to Maui, it's nothing but families, couples, honeymooners, and "older" people. There are VERY few singles there.
