Where on Maui Should 3 Twenty-Something Girls Go?
Our family's friends have a house on the Big Island near Kona where I have been lucky enough to visit several times. I love it there, but this March I am going with two girlfriends and wanted to explore another island as well. Between Maui and Kauai I'm thinking Kauai should be saved for a romantic trip and Maui might be more fun for single girls...Agreed? We're not looking to "party" of course but we are looking for a nice balance of enjoying the serene beaches where we can peacefully relax as well as some potential nightlife where it's not strictly families and newlyweds. Any suggestions for areas of the island and specific hotels? Thanks!

Stay in Wailea for the great beaches and easy access to Kihei, go to Lahaina for nightlife (designated driver, please!), and don't forget to have a fun day trip to Hana (waterfall swimming and the black sand beach/lava tube swimming at the state park along the way).

Lahaina Shores is where I stayed. Decent prices, nice pool and narrow beach out back, right on Front Street a short walking distance to all the shops, galleries, restaurants, bars, etc. in Lahaina. Note this is just a hotel not a resort and nothing fancy about it.
