Where is this place in Florida?
My DH, MIL, and I will be traveling 98 en route to Tallahassee. He seems to recall seeing a beautiful, colorful strip of town on a previous trip but can't remember the city. He said the buildings were various bright colors.
I know this may seem silly (assuming this describes much of the Florida panhandle) but does anyone know what city he might be recalling? Could it be St. Joe? |
Are you thinking of Seaside, FL? It's a little town like you describe with "candy-colored cottages" as they say on their website. It's the kind of place you'd see on the cover of Southern Living magazine.

Hmm. That sounds like it could be the place. I'll share their website with hubby. Thanks a bunch!

There is also a place near there called Water Color. I think it is a St. Joe's property.

It is definetly NOT St. Joe but almost certainly is Seaside.
|
Forgot to ask, where will you be coming from in route to Tallahassee?
|
That's also the location for "The Truman Show" with Jim Carrey.

lovetolaugh-we'll be traveling from Dallas, stopping in Baton Rouge to see the capitol, and once we leave Tallahassee we'll be visiting family and the capitol in Atlanta and then on to Montgomery (to see the capitol, of course) and then to Meridian, Miss. for our family reunion. we'll need at least a day or two to recover.
our first night we're looking for something along 98... i'm trying to find a spot close to the ocean and less than $200 for the night... i did find a nice Courtyard in Sandestin but was hoping not to dry quite that far after leaving Baton Rouge |
