My first choice is definitely Venice Beach....although it's been a long time since I've been there. I have to agree with aquaman - Provincetown does offer some serious people watching.

Me again....actually, LA in general offered the best people watching I've ever encountered.

I wonder what people think when they see me!!!

by far and away Venice Beach.

Provincetown is a close second, and is probably more freaky, but it's just on such a smaller scale than Venice.

Any of the other suggestions (south street Philly, Montreal) may be good places to watch people with piercings and leather, but the true freaks can be found in Venice and P'town.

Wearing leather and having piercings (Montreal and South Street) and tattoos is conformity. It's good people watching, but it's just not on the same level.

Setting up a drumset on the beachwalk and giving a nude drumming performance is certainly a different deal altogether. Neither is the rollerskating, electric guitar playing hindu. Or a 1000 person drum circle, etc.

ABCDEFG,

While I'll grant you there certainly are plenty of alternofashion conformists in Montreal (mind you, these can be most fun to watch!), Montreal is awash with people with unique styles. Check out the tam-tams or walk by Cabaret a Mado in le Village on a weekend night. Good fun.
