Where is it warmest in Arizona in February?

My friend and I are looking to go away for 4-5 days in February to AZ. We will be traveling with our husbands and our 4/5 month olds (they will be then!). However, we'd like to stay somewhere we can enjoy a resort/pool/spa, but also take some day trips. Is there a place that is warm enough in February to sit outside by a pool or do we need to wait until later in the year?

Thanks for your feedback!

Tucson is always the warmest resort area in AZ, year round. JW Marriott Starr Pass is really nice. http://www.jwmarriottstarrpass.com/

I would say Tucson also, however, pool/spa weather is always a crap shoot that time of year.

Besides the Marriott, have a look at Loews Ventana, Westward Look, the Westin at Paloma and my personal favorite Hacienda del Sol.

Actually, they are the about the same:
Tucson

Phoenix

However, I would always choose Phoenix, because it sits in a bowl surrounded by mountains and so feels warmer than Tucson, which is at a higher elevation.

Yuma is the warmest place in AZ in February. I use weatherbase to check out stuff like this.

But does Yuma have a resort style hotel and activities that will works with young babies? I don't think the heat factor is the only thing OP is interested in.

Phoenix and Scottsdale, if you want a resort ... about 1,000 ft lower elevation than Tucson so typically several degrees warmer.

You should be aware that Feb AZ weather includes really chilly nights. The afternoons are wonderful, but you won't be by the pool til nearly lunch time.

All the above reports are accurate. Phoenix is a few degrees warmer. Resorts are very nice in both cities. But to me, Phoenix is a big sprawling metropolis with lots of traffic while Tucson feels like an Arizona vacation.

I second Star Pass and Paloma. Both are great spots.

I prefer Tucson to Phoenix, too, for activities and natural beauty and such, but Phoenix has more than enough to do if one is going to include lots of poolside time with the kids, as it sounds the OP would like to.

Tucson is beautiful in February. We absolutetly enjoyed the Westward Look Resort, with three (!) outdoor pools + several hot tubs.

I believe that Phoenix is slightly warmer than Tucson and has a lot more 5* resorts..its high season but we love Royal Palms, Phoenician, Biltmore, Sanctuary, Fairmont, 4Seasons and we hear that the Sheraton Wild Horse is really nice too.
5* resorts in PHX can be had for around $100 vs. $700+ a night during the summer and its hot but a dry heat but a lot of bang for the buck..we use expedia.com
Love Tucson and have only stayed at El Conquistor years ago.

I like to stay in PHX so I can go to Sedona for the day or two.
