Where, in your US travels, have you found to be the most unfriendy towards visitors?

Without a doubt, we experienced the most unfriendliness we have ever had on a trip in Los Angeles. Drivers honking car horns for the slightest aggravation, people rude on the streets, brusqeness in many places, confrontational panhandlers on Venice Beach. The worst experience ever!

Hi, I have to the second that one about Flordia We stayed 2 weeks in Marco Island people we rude and very unfriendly as if we were intruding. We stayed at the South Seas Tower and they are condos but they allow renters. I will never do that again. Maybe these people should buy a condo that does not allow renters. It was not a pleasant to say the least.

Has anyone had any complaints about meeting rude people in Portland, Oregon? I'm relocating there in a few weeks and I'm a little concerned about meeting new friends. I'm being transferred there and the office is full of older married women and I'll be the only single man in the group.

Yep. Florida is rude in all parts. South Fl. has quite a bit of rude people who come down to retire and be miserable I suppose. However, as a current resident of the panhandle (leaving soon), I have found no "Southern Hospitality". Mind you, my wife and I are from Nashville, so we are familiar with the term. Transplants and natives alike in the panhandle seem angry about something, if not hateful. This is one of the reasons my wife and I are returning to civilization. Others who have moved here from other areas have the same run-ins on a daily basis. After a couple of years of getting eaten alive at work and elsewhere, we're getting the Hell out of here. If you want to live in Florida, just find someone who has lived there before and pick their brain. You'll be glad you did.
