Where in Floriday for a romantic weekend getaway?
 

I've never been to Florida and there seems to be several different cities/airports to fly into. I'm looking for romantic accomodations right on the beach, with a great pool, and plenty of things in walking distance (don't want to rent a car). Traveling in October from Houston. Want to relax and enjoy our surroundings. Please help! Where is the best beach town?

The most romantic beaches with the most beautiful sunsets are on the gulf coast - Siesta Key in Sarasota, Anna Maria Island, Longboat Key, but I'm not sure you could get to everything you want to do without a car. You may need to go somewhere a little more touristy - the Tradewinds or The Don Cesar (pricey - but elegant) on St. Petersburg beach are both nice or Adam's Mark on Clearwater beach. Not sure if any of them have pick up from the airport or if you'd have to take a cab, but once you got there you could walk to just about everything. You should get some good deals this time of the year.

What about Ft.Lauderdale. Always good prices on flights. We are going next month. Never been, but looks like they have a variety of things for everyone. Along with beautiful beaches and lots of activities. Check out www.sunny.org
