Where do you look first for best flight deals?

Ok, you've decided you want to fly somewhere. Where do you search first for the best flight deals? i.e. Expedia, Travelocity, Kayak, Orbitz, Priceline, etc. Do you book online with that company or go directly to the airline?
Seems I usually start with Travelocity to get the "feel" of the going rates and schedules, but I usually end up going directly to the airlines to book for better options. What do you do?

I always look first in the Mileage Run and airline-specific boards on Flyertalk.com.

I have to admit, I do exactly what you do. I just feel better with the actual airline.I was an expedia fan but now swear by Travelocity!

This is a great tool for searching airfare.

Log in as a guest if it kicks to the home page... if your dates are flexible click on the appropriate links at the top of the page... search away for the best price and then go direct to the airline for the tix. It's a search engine that the travel agents use... excellent site.
