Where do I take my family in October?

I was wondering if anyone can tell me a good place to bring my family of four. It seems that all the kids stuff to do closes Oct 14th. I have Oct 22, 23, 24, and 25 off of work. Any suggestions?
Thanks
John

Are you looking for a vacation in a particular area of the nation? Or just looking for general ideas?

Almost anywhere in Florida is nice that time of the year, and the prices are down because the tourists are gone.

Are you thinking mountains or seacoast? I don't know how old your kids are, but this is a good time for hiking. As you may know the White Mountains are laced with hundreds of hiking trails at every level and abitily. Just realize that the tops of the mountains will be quite cool this time of year! The Mt. Washington Cog Railway is still open, and I think the Auto Road to the summit may also be open. This would be an unforgettable trip; just try and choose a nice clear day. Another fun place for kids is the Montshire Museum of Science in Norwich VT, just across the river from Hanover NH, and the Planetarium in Concord. If your kids are older, they might enjoy the Shaker Museum in Canterbury - a very interesting, preserved shaker community set amongst hundreds of acres of beautiful countryside.
