Where could the Kids See Snow - Relatively close driving from Atlanta

We're looking for a January family getaway from Atlanta. Would love to find some snow for kids to play in. But really don't want to drive more than 3 hours. Ideas?

You may want to change your plans to next winter then :-)
The weathermen are predicting our warmer than normal winter to last possibly all winter. Here in Syracuse NY we are shaking our heads at this crazy weather. We are usually buried in snow. No complaints but it's not expected to change for us and we are way farther away than a 3 hours drive. Colorado has snow now and they should have enough base to stick around for a little while.
Anyone else (3 hours away) have snow they think will last through January?

How about western Maryland?

Wisp ski resort: http://www.skiwisp.com/

They should at least have some manmade snow to supplement this meager winter!

Try Maggie Valley, NC but it takes a little longer than 3 hours

It can be cheaper to fly to snow in January than drive...check Jet Blue...they just started a $49 fare to some cities in January... come on up... your kids can play in my yard...
