Where are my posts disappearing to, and why?

OK, I'm beginning to feel paranoid: I have posted several times yesterday and today--sad to say--and while all the posts were attached to the threads immediately after I posted them, now they're gone! I know Fodor's is "updating" the site...should I repost, and then look like a dunce when the origianls come back from the land of the Lost and it appears I've posted the same thing twice?

I have had the same problem (many others too). Don't feel paranoid :D

have you clicked on your name, E? Should bring up your responses...

socialworker Oct 4th, 2005 07:40 AM

HI E--when I click on your name I find 6 posts from yesterday. Are those the ones you are referring to, b/c if they are, they are still there. :)

E Oct 4th, 2005 07:46 AM

Oh boy. Some of the ones that were "gone" are back. OK, I'm going to stop worrying about this, I swear! (thanks for the replies!)

beachbum Oct 4th, 2005 08:04 AM

The same thing happened to me, E. I posted a response to you three times in the Santa Fe thread, only to have each disappear into cyberspace. I figured it must be a higher power who didn't want anything negative written about Santa Fe, so I gave up!

Try clicking on your name and then hit refesh. Keep hitting it - it's an amazing changing scenerio. This site is, ahem, primitive.

Those of you experiencing problems are on the "pending delete" list. Folks are hovering over the keyboard and watching.

donco Oct 4th, 2005 09:03 AM

Hi E, Is it poss that your posts are just getting bumped down the line as new posts come up? I hit your name and over 200 threads arose. The first 3 were SOL, Williamsburg and this one.
Were there other current ones? Did they have titles that could have been misconstrued??? I had one post deleted when I said "B*te me" to someone whom I found unkind...

Beachbum, that is too funny, one of my "missing" posts is one in reply to you! But maybe it appeared after all?? Thanks all for the kind advice--I think this already-glitchy site is, I hope temporarily, even glitchier.

I am NOT happy...I wrote 3-4 posts yesterday at lunchtime and they all seem to have disappeared. I'll try refreshing...

paula1470 Oct 4th, 2005 04:16 PM

Just keep hitting the refresh button. Last night I posted-hit the refresh button three or four times and it didn't show up. Went all the way out of Fodors, came back in, it still wasn't there but I hit the refresh button about 5 more times and then it showed up. Hope they finish "updating" soon!

hey,
i've also been having problems searching. i can't even find my own post from a few days ago. the day after i posted it, i searched for it, couldn't find it, so had to manually scroll down thru the most recent posts in the left hand window. seems like all my search results end at may 2005 and nothing after that. hope someone at fodor's is reading this and can fix it!
