When should you start looking for Broadway tickets for May?

I've been to New York several times, but always used TKTS. This time, we'll be on our honeymoon and I don't want to mess with lines and have everythign in order (show-wise) prior to arrival.

Thank you for your assistance. :)

If you want to see a popular show, such as Wicked, Avenue Q or The Lion King, order the tickets now, especially for weekend performances.
For a lot of other shows, you can probably find discount offers on Playbill and other websites. However, offers for May probably won't be posted until around March. These discount offers, unlike TKTS, offer the opportunity to get discounted tickets in advance.
Of course, there will be a bunch of shows opening between now and then, so obviously you'll either have to take your chances before they open or wait for the reviews and hope you can get tickets!

You could definitely book NOW for next May for the long running popular plays. Of course , you won't be able to get the discounts like you would at TKTS. But if this is a special occasion, like your honeywoom, I would book early to avoid disappointment.

Thank you both. I know playbill.com and broadway.com are good agents, anything else I should keep my eye on that will have plays running while we are visiting?

Might I add that May is Tony season, so if your hoping to see any of the upcoming shows...Little Women, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Sweet Charity to name just 3...Spamelot???....I'd get those tix now.

I've sort of switched my favorite site to www.theatremania.com, which recently seems to have more shows at better discounts than broadway.com or playbill.com.

But I agree that now is not too early to get tickets to the "hot" shows.

You can find a list of upcoming shows http://www.playbill.com/celebritybuz...cle/80060.html

Make sure you don't get tickets to a marginal show that might close by May. You would than have to apply for a refund and start the process all over again.
