When is Summer Break???
 

Could someone please hepl me with the holiday dates in the states as I am from Australia. When is spring break and summer break in 2008?

It varies for everyone. Schools usually some time in March, then summer is late May or early June to late August.

Please tell us which part of the US you will be visiting in order to get more accurate info. :-)

Spring break for schools and colleges varies, but is usually the last week in March and the first week in April. Some colleges are in the first of March, though. So there's basically a six-week period in the spring when students are out. Not much help, eh?

Summer break is usually mid-May through August, depending on graduation dates, etc.

And are you talking about breaks for colleges? Or high school/elementary school kids?

Thanx all, Looking at going back to Hawaii for about a week. Was just trying to avoid peak times as I know you have a long summer break over there. Thanx for the info. I have a bit of an idea now.

Hawaii schools are on break for 6 weeks in the summer, starting June and returning to school at the end of July. Spring break and intersession this year is March 17 - 28. There are also three weeks at winter holiday time and a week and change in early October. Other parts of the country have other schedules, bringing visitors with families.
