When does Southwest Airlines start taking reservations for December?

I once called their 800 # to ask when they would have seats available for when I wanted to travel [August 2005]and the person I talked to said they don't even know when they are going to open up. They told me to "keep checking!"

I did that diligently and I think they showed up around March -- so that would be about 5 months out. And even with my vigil [and I think I got my tickets very early on as I checked every day] certain flights were already sold out!!

So maybe 5 months out or so??

Based on past experience from the last 12 months or so, they should release seats in the next few days for travel up to mid-Dec. Not sure if they'll cover Christmas, however.

Go to SWA's website and download their "Ding!" program. It will email you when new dates start booking.

usually end of june or july...I think it may be july...I am looking as well
