what's with all the memphis posts?

is it national promote memphis month?! there have been about 10-15 posts today, all bunched together. i have a hard time believing that many people are that curious about visiting memphis. is that an attempt to clog the boards?
I was wondering the exact same thing!!!!! I couldn't figure out why Memphis was so popular all of a sudden. Anyone have an answer???

It's just someone topping old posts for a new person looking for Memphis info. Look at the date of the first post on each thread and you'll see that. Then look at all the new posts and you'll see that the only new post has been the ttt.

I was doing all the topping. Someone who just started using the board emailed me asking about Memphis and I said I would top some of the posts because she couldn't find them. Sorry if I irritated anyone.

Just FYI. In the month of May, Memphis has a series of festivals down at the large riverside park that Beale Street runs into. This past weekend should have been the music festival. A big Bar-be-cue competition also is a part of the "Memphis in May" deal. They have something major happening every weekend. From their website:

This years Memphis in May Events include:
Beale Street Music Festival (3rd - 5th)
International Week (6th -12th)
Desti-Nations International Family Festival (11th)
World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest (16th - 18th)
Great Southern Food Festival (25th - 26th)
Sunset Symphony (26th)

The website is:
http://216.169.60.100/memphis-in-may.asp

I believe much better help would be in explaining how to do the search rather then to top all these posts. What if the same person will change the destination - how many more are you going to top for her??

Oh, damn, t! I thought it was a ruse to get an inane, rambling post from Beth!

See that little box at the top that says "Text search?" Type your keyword in there press go and viola, takes you right to where you want to go. Beats topping everything and a first grader could do it....

Truly, all the other posts didn't bother me -- possibly because I am savvy enough to see that they have been topped. However, what is truly annoying is creating a post like this -- now we have the 16th post about Memphis. very curious, if something doesn't interest you, you could be less than curious and pass it by, instead of just causing dissention on the boards.

I do know how to use the search engine. I said a new poster was having trouble with it and couldn't get it to work for some reason. I didn't ask why but rather than posting all that information again, it was much easier to top it. No harm, no foul. As someone else said, if you don't want to read it skip over it.

T - I think you're a nice person, just trying to help out someone new to the site and maybe not as computer savy as some others.
