ttt-to the top.
when your posting drops to the bottom of the page, typing anything into the reply box will bring your post back up...to the top :)

People will type ttt if they want to keep their questions (or others') at the top of the posting list. If it's an active list, a post can get lost and then never receive many answers. Typing 'ttt' puts it back in the spotlight.

It is an abbreviation used by frequent visiors to this site for the sole purpose of getting somebody like you to ask what it means. Keep watching--the same question will be asked in two or three weeks.

Reminds me of the story of the Man on the Street Reporter who was interviewing three people at once. To an American, a Russian, and an East Indian, he said, "Excuse me, can you comment on the hunger situation in Africa?"
The American asked, "What is hunger?"
The Russian asked, "What is comment?"
The East Indian blurted out, "What is 'excuse me'?"
