What's the Sheraton downtown like?

How far of a walk is it from Tower City?

Dan Jul 21st, 2003 02:18 PM

City?

FainaAgain Jul 21st, 2003 02:21 PM

TOWER city :)

Judy24 Jul 21st, 2003 02:42 PM

And would that be Tower City, Alabama; Tower City, Montana; or Tower City, Mars?

Anonymous Jul 21st, 2003 02:47 PM

Now, Judy, no need to exaggerate -- this is the US board, so it's one of the 50 states, but not Mars.

Brian_in_Atlanta Jul 21st, 2003 03:11 PM

Well, I think both Mars and Hawaii should have their own boards.

Tammi Jul 21st, 2003 03:41 PM

well I did put it in the Ohio topic so there's a clue. I guess the next clue is Tower City so that would be Cleveland.

Sorry!

Gardyloo Jul 21st, 2003 04:09 PM

The Mars board is pathetic - you're much better off consulting mww.biddingformars.com. The moderator, Wfxiew'nk is a bit snippy, though.

Anonymous Jul 21st, 2003 04:14 PM

You'd be snippy, too, if people didn't read the instructions and use the boards they way they were intended.

obxgirl Jul 21st, 2003 04:35 PM

Tammi, My guess is that when you posted your message and were asked to tag it to a search topic, you weren't actually tagging it to all (in this case) Ohio questions for others to read under a Ohio heading. Your message appears with all other US board queries and in this case has an ambiguous title of "what's the sheraton down like?" No one could tell you meant Cleveland Ohio.

Fodor's funky and ambiguous search and indexing feature. Too bad others didn't cut you a little slack.

Tammi Jul 21st, 2003 04:41 PM

thanks for the explaination. It's ok, I know how some people can get on here!

TedTurner Jul 21st, 2003 04:55 PM

Tammi's from Venus, Anonymous is from Mars.
That's why they can't get along.

Tammi Jul 21st, 2003 05:20 PM

I'll take that as a compliment :P

Anonymous Jul 21st, 2003 05:27 PM

Me, too.

Leona Jul 22nd, 2003 05:11 AM

So now that the clever repartee is over, is anyone going to answer Tammi's question?

Anonymous Jul 22nd, 2003 05:20 AM

We've all been doing her the huge favor of topping her question even though we don't know the answer, in hopes that someone will come along who does know!

Questions about specific hotels, and specific aspects of specific hotels, require very specific respondents!

IMHO, Tammi would be better-off just looking up the street addresses of the two palces and putting them into Mapquest.

Tammi Jul 22nd, 2003 05:51 AM

um, I want a review of the hotel as well as the distance to tower city. So I don't think mapquest can help me there.

Tammi Jul 22nd, 2003 05:51 AM

oh and yeah, I know about the hotel review section of fodors. I'd like a more recent review though.

gc Jul 22nd, 2003 06:02 AM

Well let's see...Google search on Tower City, take the first link, push the directions button, and you get this:

http://www.towercityamphitheater.com/directions.html

That ought to be a good starting point...

Tammi Jul 22nd, 2003 06:14 AM

ok nevermind the walking bit, I'm more interested in a review of the hotel. Has anyone actually stayed there??

Brian_in_Atlanta Jul 22nd, 2003 06:31 AM

Tammi, you'll probably have better luck if you just start a new thread entitled, "Anyone Stayed at the Sheraton in Downtown Cleveland?". Lots of serious posters are skipping by this thread.

Cerlaurie Jul 22nd, 2003 06:34 AM

Tammi, you are awfully snippy - there were no obvious "clues" in your post. I would suggest if you want a reader reviews of this hotel I would do a new post and put Sheraton in Downtown Cleveland in the subject line or Sheraton Tower City - whatever this hotel really is. This thread is not going to get you any results as you can see.

Curious Jul 22nd, 2003 07:34 AM

Brian In Atlanta,

"Anyone Stayed at the Sheraton in Downtown Cleveland?".

"Anyone"?????? I'm certain that somebody has. You see this type of question all of the time on this board and is kind of open ended.

I would think "Sheraton in downtown Cleveland" would fit the bill.

Curious

Gardyloo Jul 22nd, 2003 08:33 AM

There are 3 reviews of the hotel from Priceline users at www.biddingfortravel.com. Three stars, standard stuff. Example: "..The Sheraton is in a central downtown location, with easy walking to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Warehouse district, and right next door to the Convention center."

Recent hits on PL at around $35.

bookhall Jul 22nd, 2003 08:40 AM

I'll betcha if you went to biddingfortravel.com, and went to the Cleveland OH hotels list, and checked for the downtown Sheraton, you'd find a review. Or two. Or three.

Stay away from that biddingformars board, though. Lotta smart alecks and fuzzy thinkers....

Brian_in_Atlanta Jul 22nd, 2003 09:50 AM

Curious, it seems that you (like me) have too much time on your hands. Posing the question the way I put it indicates that the poster is interested in personal experience with that hotel. Most can infer that in the question, "anyone" refers to anyone on this board.
