What's the Most Romantic Dinner Restaurant in Philly?

Hi all,

Heading to Philadelphia in a week for a one-night stay (Sunday, Sept. 30). We're going to the Van Halen show in the evening, so we'd like to have a relatively early dinner somewhere. Thing is, the next day is our two-year anniversary. Last year we forgot about it entirely, which is funny, but this year we'd like to actually celebrate it.

Can anyone recommend a place for dinner? You know the drill: romantic, charming, quaint, quiet, delicious food, flawless service.

It can't be too formal because we're going to a rock concert directly afterwards and we won't be dressed in our best. We're frugal, but not opposed to spending, say, up to $75 or so for the two of us, not including alcohol. That usually covers two mains and maybe an appetizer to share. We'll hit some other place for dessert after the show, I think. And if you can recommend such a spot, please also let me know.

We ate at Alma de Cuba the last time we were in town and enjoyed it immensely. Food was inventive, tasty, and fun, and the service was impeccable. We really had an awesome time there. As much as he loved the food, my husband's favorite part was when we left. As the doorman opened the door for our exit, he said, "Thank you, Mr. 626." Mr. 626 said it made him feel like he was "somebody." He was terribly pleased, and I loved seeing him all puffed up about it.

I'll bite. What does 626 stand for?

Which areas of Philly would be best for you? ((*))

It's the OP's handle "faile626"

Anyway, I was going to suggest Deux Cheminees, but sadly it closed its doors after 26 years of serving fabulous food.

This might better be posted at chowhound.com. They have a lot of Phila. foodies there....
