Marin County is not particularly bad. In fact I think the "stats" in Marin are better than where she lives now (37.1 daily new cases per 100K in Marin vs 75.7 in Fairfield.) They aren't even purple.
For bad, you don't want to come to Southern California. LA County is 142.3 daily new cases. Our testing positivity rate is 19.6... Yep, one in five who come in for a test, test positive.
Before your drive, check the data. You might be surprised at which states are doing better than others. Or you might convince your partner to wait.

Ok..partner just got appt for vaccine in NYC for next week, but my age does not qualify yet....but he now says we will not travel until he gets the second shot..YEAH for me..more time in NYC for me!!
