What's the cheapest/easiest way to get from JFK to Northport?

I'll be landing at JFK w/a friend and a couple of large suitcases. What's the cheapest and easiest way to get further out on Long Island....to Northport?

Cheapest and easiest meaning you want to know both?

I don't know the cheapest but the easiest is a car service with a driver.

Check Long Island Railroad (LIRR). That is probably cheapest. I am pretty sure that there is a station Northport.

I always use the Air Train to Jamaica Station then the LIRR to Ronkonkoma. It is very easy and convenient. Go to: http://www.mta.info/lirr/ for information on schedules, stations, and fares. It may take you longer than hiring a car with driver, but not necessarily, depending on when you are arriving at JFK.

Oh by the way - the AirTrain to Jamaica Station is $5 and the LIRR to Northport will run around $7 to $10 depending on if its peak or off peak.
