What's the Blue Man Show in Las Vegas?
Can someone describe this show to me, where it can be seen and about how much? I've heard it's good but don't know what it is.
Also, anyone here stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas? I want to go there for New Years. I understand they put on a decent show/party there for New Year's Eve. Could you describe your experience there for me? Where is it located, what is it near to, etc?
Thanks so much!

Are you referring to the Blue Man Group?
I saw this show in Boston a few years back. It's very bizarre, very entertaining, and totally unique. It's basically a series of very clever pantomine skits with lots of props, loud music, lights, audience participation, etc, etc. I would recommend it for anyone except very small children who may be freightened by some of the loud drumming.

Blue Man is fun fun fun!! It's an experience that really defines expression but I can tell you that my husband and I (late 30-somethings) as well as our 12 and 9 year olds loved it. We saw the New York version (basically the same) 3 weeks ago and our kids said it was their favorite New York experience. I would definitely pay the money to go at least once.

Sandi,
The show is at the Luxor - the cheapest, easiest way to get them is to call the Luxor directly. They have 2-3 shows a night so they don't generally sell out. We saw it in August and paid @$75 per ticket, if I remember correctly. Although I liked the show, I can't necessarily rave about it. I suppose it has to do with the fact that my expectations were set high because so many people thought it was great. - Hope this helps.

Thanks, everyone, for the information. Think I might check this show out. Will be in Las Vegas for three nights over New Years.
Are these the same guys with the blue heads and the bug eyes on some office equipment(?) commercial on TV?
Thanks again!

Sandi,
Yep, same guys. Actually, I'd always disliked the Pentium III commercials until we saw Blue Man Group in person...the commercials don't do them justice. On top of being funny and entertaining, they're pretty good musicians--great rhythmic beat. As I said in an earlier post, we saw them in New York but Vegas would be a great venue also...it's such a way-out, wacky place anyhow that the Blue Man experience just seems par for the course--go into it with a wide-open frame of mind and I'm guessing you'll love it.

This is one great show to see at the Luxor....we loved it. I read that the founders of Blue Man Group (there are several troupes now), went to Vegas when the show was to be put on there and developed some new routines unique to the Luxor show. The original founders also appeared at least at first in the Vegas show (when we saw them it was the original guys)but it may now be one of the troupes (hard to tell they all look alike in the blue paint). Regardless it is great show and I even got my bald head rubbed by one of the blue men when he came into the audience during the chair climbing sequence...left me a nice big blue smudge on my head. Go see it, it is fun and worth every cent it costs.

I saw BMG a few weeks ago and LOVED it. It's a little bit Stomp, a little bit Gallagher, and a little bit something else, definitely worth seeing! My girlfriend and I saw it on a Monday night and the theater was half empty, so we obviously didn't need to buy our tickets two months ahead of time, but this was the slow time between Thanksgiving and xmas. I'm planning to see it again in March with my fiance (surprise bday present for him - shhh!) and can't wait!
