What's the best time to have dinner?

Does anyone know what time is best for having dinner in the theatre district? We aren't going to see any shows, so we're hoping to miss that crowd. When would you venture out? Thanks in advance!!

In New York on a Saturday. :)

You can venture out at 7:30

My favorite is 9PM.

Shows start at 8 so many diners will be finishing their meals arout 7:30 or 7:45. Go out then.

But if you are not seeing a show, why are you having dinner in the area?

Good question eks, as I don't remember any especially inviting places in the theater area....But last time we were there was a couple years ago....

I would only eat in that area if I was going to theatre after dinner. Even then, I would prefer to eat elsewhere. It is hard to recommend without knowing the preference of the OP. Chowhound.com is a great source for food and restaurant talk and opinions.
