I have limited time in Honolulu between arrival and boarding a cruise ship and at the other end also.

Is Pearl Harbor closed for construction? What one thing would you do/see within the orbit of the airport and cruise terminal if you had to choose?

I think the only part of the Pearl Harbor area for visitors that is closed is the Arizona Memorial itself. If you have never been, and have an interest in that part of history, one can't go wrong with the choice. Pretty sure tickets are timed and free, I'd check to see if you could get a reservation for a time that works for you first. Otherwise could be a wasted trip.

Only one thing and in a short amount of time, I'd do the tour of Iolani Palace.

Bishop Museum, Foster Botanical Gardens and Kuan Yin Temple, Chinatown, are some other options nearby.

I agree with suze, the Iolani Palace. It encapulates the Hawaiian history, the sense of the islands, the Hawaiian peoples, their culture.

My vote goes to the Punchbowl--it's a very moving experience. For scenery, the Nuuanu Pali lookout.

I suspect the OP is going to get plenty of "enjoy the ocean time" on a ship. I agree with Pearl as well as the Iolani.
