I understand that Ty on Extreme Makeover wants to take down the Great Wall of China..will we be permitted to take a chunk home as a souvenir?

P_M Sep 2nd, 2006 08:34 AM

jetset, your post reminds me of a conversation I had with an elderly relative. We were in a Chinese restaurant admiring a portrait of the Great Wall of China. I told her that it's my dream to someday see the Wall. She told me that's impossible because they tore it down. She saw them on TV with pickaxes and hammers, chopping away at it. I told her very gently that was the Berlin Wall, and the GW of China is still very much intact. :-)

PM~ oh my, sounds like my mother-in-law, who is a dear but always gets the facts mixed up..
here's a funny thing, after seven kids, she never remembered my dh real birthday.. they celebrated one day later, then when we found his birth certificate, he learned the true date!
Since three of them have August b-days, I figure the November turkey must have been the cuplrit, lol.

Did you hear the one where a man was being congratulated on his 50th wedding anniversay? His reply - We've been happily married for 43 years - and 7 pretty horrible ones. :-)

Hey, we should add this question to the thread about the questions that have never been asked on this board - "At which hotel in NYC can I find the smallest rooms

P_M Sep 5th, 2006 06:43 PM

I am a pathetic, lonely person who likes to post inane garbage on message boards. Is Fodors the place for me?

starrsville Sep 5th, 2006 06:47 PM

How do the hall monitors know that pathetic, lonely people post here - unless they are themselves pathetic, lonely people?

Why do the hall monitors recommend craigslist?

Armani_Rugpilot Sep 5th, 2006 09:46 PM

The first question.
Only you have asked that.
