Whats a great vacation for hubby to take 3 kids to in June?
I am looking at colleges with our eldest dtr the week of June 16-so my husband is looking to take our children, ages 13, 14 and 15 somewhere that week. Any suggestions? I told him go to the Grand Canyon, but is it very very hot in June? (He doesn't go for hot weather...) And, if it is a good recommendation (not too hot), what are some nice luxury hotels at the Canyon? Many thanks!

Having 2 teenagers myself; their favorites are: Playa del Carmen, Mexico ( 40 minutes from Cancun)Iberostar Tucan/Quetzal Resort or Vancouver, Canada. Playa del Carmen is on the Mayan Coast and a great little town. Most of the hotels are All-Inclusive resorts (great for kids) which includes all food, drink, and activities(water sports and land sports and games)plus lots of other kids and families. We love Iberostar (going again in July-will be our 7th time)
We love the Vancouver area-friendliest people anywhere-great food, sights and location. A ferry ride will get you everywhere; namely Vancouver Island for beautiful Pacific Rim scenery: whale watching, fishing, ocean, mountains, rain forest, wildlife. Then a short drive to Whistler for lakes, mountains, rivers, maybe snow. Also, the dollar is stong making the prices good.

When I had kids that age, we enjoyed visiting SW Colorado. One kid (34 now) and I are steam train buffs so we loved trips on the Narrow Guage trains between Durango & Silverton (still do, as a matter of fact). The other one tolerated that but loved the outdoors, hiking, and scenery. If anything, that area has gotten more enjoyable to visit over the years and you won't find better scenery anywhere. If they want to make a junket of it, they could spend 2-3 days there and then head over to southern Utah for all the parks and other areas that are so heavily covered on these threads.

My family likes to take cheap all-inclusive trips to Cozumel. I think it is through worryfreetravel or vacations. My spelling is off but the two great places were something like Paradices and El Cozumeleno.
