You need to call the son, who should be keeping a closer eye on his mother, no matter how independent she seems. Someone sees a 70+-ish woman travelling alone can easily try to take advantage of her.

The son should call the hotel & limo company & report this entirely bizarre incident.

Hi there artlover, guess you lost my email address? I don't post my email address on a public board but I would love to "talk" to you. Do you want to post yours? Or, EasyTraveller should have my address, I think you have hers. If so you can write to me via Easy and ask her to forward it to me? Take care..hope we can get this communication situation worked out.

This nutty fella seems to be one of those compulsive neurotic types. His boss should have been notified as not only might he be some sort of danger, he might be a menace to the company for which he works. There's no call for what he did.

Agree report the creep. Next time, meet the driver in the lobby. You were too trusting.

Well, I think my friend will certainly not let this happen again. She wrote:

Seems I generated a lot of thoughts and opinions. I
guess one of the main problems was when my son
originally called the shuttle company and I heard him
tell my room number to whoever was on the line from
the company. I didn't think anything about that. Now
I understand that in the future, I will direct any
shuttle company to the front desk if they should ask
for my room number.

And maybe it reminded some of us (me included) to be more aware when traveling.

Bea,
Thanks. I'm working on it. Currently reading hotel reviews in Tripadviser on Barcelona hotels in Spanish. Of course, who knows if I'm really translating accurately? :D

LoveItaly,
I believe I have it somewhere, and if not, I have easytraveller's phone # and will certainly get in touch with both of you before my trip (in December). Best wishes.

Thanks all for the feedback! I think it's great she's still traveling alone at her age, but this sure should be a wake-up call.
