What were the best things you ate in Las Vegas?
 

Hi, guys - I'm curious what your favorite things were that you ate in Las Vegas. Favorite meal, restaurant, snack, dessert, breakfast? Anything that you loved from the pricey down to cheap. I'd love to hear about it. Thanks for any guidance you can provide!

Lunch at Mon Ami Gabi at Paris and the breakfast at Paris too [not the buffet, but the menu & served one}. Jasmine at Bellagio for Chinese for dinner.

Oooo la la, the chocolate Eiffel Tower dessert at the restaurant in Paris Las Vegas' Eiffel Tower. It was a few years ago but I hope they still have it. We've also enjoyed Mon Ami Gabi and the southern france style restaurant in that resort as well.
Lone Star Steak house on Tropicana or Flamingo road a few miles east of the strip for the weet potatoes.
BLT pizza at Calif. Pizza Kitchen in the Mirage. Also Cravings the Mirage buffet seems to be one of the better buffets without paying ridiculous prices.
Now I want to go to Vegas!

The dinner salad at Hugo's Cellar at the Four Queen's Hotel. An old school, fine dining restaurant, the salad is prepared table side and is absolutely delicious. It comes with dinner and besides the fresh greens, it is accompanied with a cart full of assorted condiments. It is so tasty you have to be careful because it is easy to fill up and not be able to finish your entree.

There are ssoooo many great restaurants in Vegas including a good number of Michelin stars, so you may get a wide variety of responses, especially since you didn't specify what cuisine.

We go to Vegas all the time and one of our favorites is off the Strip at a restaurant called Firefly.

It's a Spanish-style tapas bar that both locals and tourists rave about (make sure to have reservations since it's always busy). We prefer the tapas here compared to tapas we've eaten in Spain (although I think Firefly's tapas are Spanish-influenced, not really authentically Spanish).
I'd recommend the filet mignon sliders, meat empanadas, and ham and cheese croquetas. For dessert, order tapas-style, too, so you can try more than one. We love the chocolate tres leches cake, chocolate and cherry bread pudding, and caramel flan.

For breakfast pastries, snacks, or late-night sweets, we like Le Notre in the Paris hotel. Jean-Philippe Patisserie in Bellagio comes in a close second place to Le Notre.

I see there are two Grand Lux cafes in Vegas (Venetian & Palazzo)? We ate at the one in Chicago a couple of years ago, we still talk about the Strawberry Shortcake & Double stuffed potatoe springrolls...YUM :-) Hopefully we will make it there in Nov to try them again.

The $5 steak dinner and $1 microbrews at Ellis Island. It's about the only good deal left in Vegas.

vg, I just ran across your Vegas threads while searching for something else! Vegas will be a totally different experience from CR, but a fun one!

We loved Red Square in the Mandalay Bay complex. I had the pork medalions, and they were so good, very tender. The restaurant has a sensual, romantic type of atmosphere. If you like vodka, they have many different types, and even a bar carved out of ice!

Hamburgers at the little hamburger joint - which I think is kitty corner from the Wynn or in that area.

The "oh my gosh ganache' cupcake at the Cupcakery. No where near the strip, out in the 'burbs. Divine.

Off strip but a much better deal than anything on strip. Has excellent breakfast/brunch/lunch.

Breakfast at Binions Horseshoe Casino downtown LV..best ham and eggs, hash browns, toast for $4.99..ham takes up the whole plate.
.99 cent shrimp cocktails..forget the name of the casino downtown.
Daniel Boulud's brasserie, Okada and Alex at the Wynn.
Burger Bar at Mandalay.
Lotus of Siam off the strip for the best Thai.

Boy, that's a loaded question, if ever I heard one !

I second the recommendation for Hugo's - the food & service are fabulous. You expect Frank Sinatra to walk in at any moment - very retro.
Also, the French Restaurant at the Monte Carlo is very yummy.
