What was the "fattest US city"??

Someone listed what the tenth one was, anyone know what the first was?

_tHe_hApPy_wAiTeR_ Oct 10th, 2003 04:39 AM

I wouldn't know. I don't server fat people. Only slim and beautiful for me.

JohnD Oct 10th, 2003 04:48 AM

Here is link to best and worst10:http://chicago.about.com/library/bla...testcities.htm

How about getting some more helpful travel info. like which airline has widest/largest average coach seat in case we have to visit one of these cities? :?

Tammi Oct 10th, 2003 05:12 AM

LoL thanks John.

Patrick Oct 10th, 2003 05:41 AM

I can only wonder what kind of deranged mind would worry about such things, or even think they might somehow be important.

Tammi Oct 10th, 2003 06:38 AM

Thanks for calling me deranged. I was just curious... it's a spinoff from someone else's post about "why are we so fat."

Lighten up!!

Johanna1 Oct 10th, 2003 07:13 AM

If we know the "fattest" cities, the borderline fat people can move there and feel skinny all the time...

viamar Oct 10th, 2003 07:18 AM

I think at one time it was New Orleans and after visiting there I can understand. How do make everthing taste so good?

Kal Oct 10th, 2003 07:19 AM

Starting tomorrow, Branson, Mo. may qualify because I'll be bring the average up a few lbs. 8-}

Dan Oct 10th, 2003 07:23 AM

I remember New Orleans being listed as first a few years ago. So what happened? Did we collectively go on a diet in this town? NO fell from first to completely off the list!

Just shows how bogus these "lists" are.

Johanna1 Oct 10th, 2003 07:26 AM

A couple of years ago, it was Philadelphia. Supposedly, the fire chief was so embarrassed by this that he issued an appeal to residents to get heart-healthy and lose weight. He did lose some weight, but not many others joined him in his official appeal.

Scarlett Oct 10th, 2003 07:30 AM

My curiosity is once we all know which City is the fattest, what do we do about it?
Stay away for fear it will get on us?
Go right away to feel thin?
Go right away to feel like one of the crowd?
Sit here and feel superior cuz I don't live there?
I see what Patrick means, what is the point of such a list ?

Patrick Oct 10th, 2003 07:35 AM

Sorry I offended you Tammi. Guess I SHOULD lighten up. I just never saw anything interesting or funny about singling out ANY group of people for their physical or other problems. Let's start threads about what city has the most people with missing limbs, or which state has the most people with mental deficiencies. Those should be good for a laugh too. Or let's just talk about where the ugliest people live. That should make those of us who don't think we're ugly feel even better about ourselves. Could anyone explain why this type of thread has any possible value, or is it just meant for pure entertainment --making fun of others???

Paul Oct 10th, 2003 07:48 AM

Patrick,
My guess is for the "entertainment value." I mean, why do these lists get published in the first place? It sort of has that "Fear Factor" image... let's be real gross and talk about for no reason.
I only opened this thread as I clicked on your name. You were responding to a FL question and I always like to read what you have to say. Hope NY is going great with you!
Paul

Scarlett Oct 10th, 2003 07:50 AM

Patrick, that would be a thread titled
Which Village has the most Idiots.

Tammi Oct 10th, 2003 08:49 AM

Patrick, like I said I was just curious. I never said it had value.

As for your comments, I don't tend to value what someone who also calls 9 year olds retarded, has to say either.

Moving on...
