What to pack for "warm" clothes for Hawaii?

My fiance and I are leaving for Hawaii on Saturday for our honeymoon, and we are finishing up our packing. We are going for 2 weeks (Oahu, BI, and Maui) and I was wondering how many "warmer clothes" to bring. Right now I have a couple sweatshirts and a light zip-up sweater. Will I need anything heavier than that?

If you are going to Mauna Kea and/or Haleakala you will need something warm. I would bring one item, not three. Maybe the sweater? The weather will be WARM everywhere else. Have a great honeymoon!

I agree; just take one of those warm items. Also, some tours to Mauna Kea provide parkas.

Aside from Haleakala, the only place you'll need a sweatshirt is on the plane! Enjoy.

For Haleakala my husband just brought one long sleeved shirt and layered a couple of t-shirts under it - worked great.

I would also suggest sweatpants or similar for Haleakala. Congrats!

Hi! Thanks so much. For pants, I think I am just going to bring one pair of jeans (and a couple of capris for going out at night). I won't need more than that, will I, in terms of weather?

A thin dress or two for evenings would be nice. I have a calf length very light rayon dress I wore a lot. If you don't want to pack one, you have a ready-made excuse to go shopping. I don't think you'll need jeans unless you go horseback riding or hiking over lava fields. 2 swimsuits and extra underwear are good to take since you'll probably be swimming more than once a day. I managed to forget to bring tee shirts to wear as coverups in the water, but I bought a couple at Wal-Mart on the BI for abou$3 each.

I agree, only one warm item. I brought one and never used it. The light zip up one sounds good.

I don't think jeans are needed either. It's too hot/humid there. I lived in capris and skirts at night.

have fun!

Aloha beachgirl,

If you are staying oceanfront, a long sleeve tee is perfect for early AM's on the lanai.

I also like to pack a few votive or tealight candles for a little ambience... if you get my drift. B-)
