What to do in SF on Christmas day

Hello Friends,
I and my wife will be in San Francisco on 25th December. I was wondering if all attractions will be closed on that day. If so. then what can we do on that day? Any suggestions?
thanks

Dim Sum and movies! Try Yank Sing in the Rincon Annex for an SF tradition. Make reservations. We always meet friends here then walk on over to the Embarcadero Cinemas for a good movie. You can also watch the ice skaters at Embarcadero as well.

There are plenty of great movie theatres and you will have your choice of almost anything from art houses to mainstream stuff. Any of the bigger hotels will also probably have Christmas dinner. You might check out dinner at the Ritz. You will be able to walk about Union Square and look at the shop windows without being crushed by the crowds the day before or the next day.

It depends on what you mean by "attractions"--the Golden Gate Bridge, Golden Gate Park, cable cars, Lombard Street, Chinatown don't close.

Gay bars are always packed on Christmas with people needing an escape from Family, so check out the Castro.

I would go to Grace Cathedral on Nob Hill. Beyond the Bronze doors the pagentry and music is as good as a NY Show. Have cocktails at the Top of the Mark and enjoy the views then saunter on down to Chinatown and have some Dim Sum.

Hey MikeT, good thinking!
jbush, if you are in the Castro, take a short cab ride to the top of Twin Peaks to enjoy the view, then walk back down - it's a very pretty neighborhood. I think Cafe Flore on Market near Castro stays open on Christmas. They have wonderful mulled wine and hot cider, nice atmosphere with plenty of music and people-watching.

thanks all for your replies!
It seems like I can do golden gate bridge and park..and then just 'feel' the city by walking around

Is the nude Nutcracker going on this year? My friend saw it last year with his visiting parents and sister around Xmas time.

I have to put a plug in for Irving Berlin's "White Christmas" playing at the Curran Theater. (http://www.bestofbroadway-sf.com/curran.html)

Tickets still available for the 8pm show that night.

A good friend of mine is stage manager and I'm really looking forward to seeing it.
