What to do in Savannah for 5 hours?

I"m back with another question for my fellow Fodorites!

We are landing in Savannah, Georgia this Saturday in early a.m....picking up a rental car - we have five hours to "kill" before we head to HIlton Head (which is my next question). What should we see in that short time? Any suggestions for a good, causal lunch place? Thank you!

Take the architectural tour. I mentioned it in my trip report; click on my name to find it.

What does "early" mean?

It makes a difference to what I would recommend.

The Savannah Music Festival will be going on while you're there (March 24- April 9). Check what's happening during your five hours.

It's a fantastic festival--all kinds of music. We go each year, this year we'll be there the following week, 31st through 2nd.

For lunch:
Sandwiches and great ice cream, Leopolds. Very popular.
Or for great beer, burgers and local flavor,
And finally, for an upscale wonderful lunch, The Olde Pink House (you may need reservations)

Enjoy Savannah. It's wonderful.

If this is your first visit to Savannah, I'd advise you to just walk around--the riverfront and then the squares starting from the riverfront. No matter how often we go to Savannah, we always walk around the squares.
