What to do in Plymouth, WI?

My husband and I will be spending a long weekend in PLymouth, WI next month. We'll be staying at 52 Stafford. Any recommendations on what to do or where to eat? Thanks!

See the Old Wade House. It's a restored stage coach layover a few miles west of Plymouth in Greenbush.

If you are there on a Thursday, see if the City band is playing in the City Park. It's a hoot.

If you like local-style stock car racing, that happens on Saturday nights. If you don't, pray for rain. It is very loud and it is at the edge of town at the Fairgrounds.

Check with the staff at the B&B. I don't remember the new name of a great restaurant on HWY. 67. It used to be the Miller Guest House. I had a delightful meal there in June. Anyone over fifty will know what I mean and will give you the new name.

The Dairy Queen near Hwy. 57 on the way into town (east side) is a good place for lunch steak sandwiches. The root beer stand catty-corner from the Piggly-Wiggly still has drive-in service and great food.

Going into Sheboygan gives you the lakefront and some museums. Kohler is on the way there and is worth a stop to the Kohler Design Center. (If you have BIG bucks to drop, The American Club is there to dine at. Also, new upscale golfing is there - but the LPGA may interfere...)

I haven't been to Elkhart Lake for thirty-plus years, but you might check it out, too.

Good luck and have fun.

The lakefront in Sheboygan and the Kohler Design Center are great ideas. Try a frozen custard at a local stand, too!

I would agree that a trip to the lakefront in Sheboygan would is nice. We found some lovely beaches there. There is also a boardwalk along the river and it is a nice place for a walk. We never miss a chance to stop at Kohler. We like to browse the Design Center, shop (well, usually just look) at the Shops at Woodlake which are just across the road. In that complex there is a restaurant called Cucina. I assume it belongs to the American Club. It is one of our favorite places for lunch and if the weather is nice you might want to sit outside next to the water.
