What to do in Oahu
 

Hi, <BR>My sister and I (20 and 18 years old) are going to be in Oahu for a week in August. I'm the one planning most of the trip and was wondering of anyone had some suggestions of interesting things to do that don't cost too much money. I want to experience the island to its fullest since we've never been to Hawaii and probably won't go again for a while. Thanks

Tami: <BR> <BR>There is so much to do on Oahu I don't know where to begin! It's been years since I've been, so I'm sure there are many more things to do. But this should get you started. <BR> <BR>1. Peal Harbor Memorial - I don't remember how much this was, but it's worth the cost <BR>2. Hike up Diamond Head - awesome view! <BR>3. Hanama Bay - swim with the fish <BR>4. Punchbowl Cemetery - Cemetery in the crater of a volcano - again, awesome view. <BR>5. Marketplace (on the main Waikiki strip) - fun little booths for shopping. <BR>6. There is a beautiful beach on the other side of the island from Waikiki that is wonderful and not very busy. There are cliffs that people dive from on one end. Maybe someone else will know the name of the beach, but it's right on the roadside and goes for quite a ways. <BR>7. People-watching in the evening along Waikiki was also a lot of fun! <BR> <BR>Have a wonderful time!

Isn't Pearl harbor free?

Pearl Harbor is free if you take the tour offered by whoever maintains it - Coast Guard? The free tour is the best one anyways as it is the only one that takes you to the USS Arizona Memorial. Go early or you'll have a huge wait. If you're staying in Honolulu you'll need to take a bus to get there (since you're under 25, I'm assuming you won't be able to rent a car) I agree with Julie on all of her ideas! Be sure to rent snorkels & fins one day. Usually only about $7-8 a day. b <BR>

Be aware that at 20 and 18 years old you probably won't be able to rent a car, so factor public transport and/or taxis into any of your plans. But check this out with the various car rental companies before you leave.
