What to do before SF Giants game
We're going to a 1:05 pm San Francisco Giants game on Sunday, May 29, and I'm wondering what we might have time to visit before the game -- maybe something between our hotel (Cow Hollow Motor Inn on Lombard St.) and the stadium. We'll be using public transportation. We'll probably be up pretty early, as it'll be our first day in the city and our bodies will be on Connecticut time. Thank you for any insights you can offer.

Go to the Ferry Building market.

Thanks for the suggestion, Michael.

(Not an answer to your question), but bring warm clothing. We were there on a July afternoon and froze. Also coming from northeast, we thought California=warm.
|
Thanks, Gail. We've booked an evening tour of Alcatraz for after the game, so we plan to stuff extra layers in our bag.

The Ferry Building is a very good suggestion since you can then take the streetcar to the game. BTW May is usually warmer than July (no fog usually) so abide by the no. 1 rule for SF-- dress in layers!!

Ferry Building! we stopped there after a Giants game last year and it's great!! we walked from the stadium.....

The Ferry Bulding Farmer's market is an excellent idea. You can walk along Embarcadero, together with other Giants fans, to go to PacBell Park from the Ferry Building - 25 minutes.
Another option is a leisurely walk in Chinatown, along Grant or Stockton. On an early Sunday morning, ther won't be many tourists - mostly Chinese locals doing their morning market shopping. |
Thanks to everyone for your help!
