I guess the point of the story is unless you have walked in heels defer to the ladies who have...

I stand corrected :d.

Wow! You're all so helpful, I feel like you should join us for a cocktail!

"Honey, some fodorite friends are joining us for our 25th, you don't mind do you?"

I checked out the Marine Room, looks stunningly beautiful! Yes, we have a car and I noticed valet parking there is $5. Not bad!!!

I'm going to check out the La Jolla website! Thanks again!!!! :)

Have fun Jayneann and Happy 25th!!

Does anyone really eat dinner at 5:45?
20:00 is early here.

Hi mikemo, a lot of people in my area eat dinner around 5:30 to 6:00pm. They think I am strange because I never eat until 8:00 to 8:30pm. When I go out to dinner with various friends we kind of compromise and make restaurant reservations for about 7:00pm. I guess it all boils down to what habit you have gotten into.

BTW, enjoy your beautiful weather good friend. We will have 110 degrees today and tomorrow. A tad hot!!!

Thanks TahitiTams!!!!

Hi Mikemo,
I agree that 5:45 is early, but the main objective is to have dinner while watching the sunset. We were in Costa Rica around New Years and missed the sunsets because we were doing excursions, so I promised myself we would watch them in SD!! I'm surrounded by woods and trees at home, so rarely get to see a sunset!

I figure a late breakfast or a brunch then not eat again until dinner. Then more cocktails after the sun goes down!!! :)

LoveItaly,
When are y'all coming to visit?
We have the rooms as you know.
Jayneann,
We lived in University City X US 5 on the mesa in the 70's and spent many summers (in the 80' and 90's) in LaJolla escaping the Dallas heat.
George's (a Dallas native) is wonderful, but adult hours in the main dining room are the very best.
A place with no view, but great, reasonably priced Euro food and way interesting wine is Thee Bungalow in Ocean Beach.
Buen viaje.

Well mikemo, I am certainly touched by your invitation, thank you so much. I would love to. I was thinking of you two last night in your beautiful house and the cool temperture. I don't want to post my email address here but let me think of a way that we can exchange addresses. And have a lovely Sunday.
