There's an excellent (or 'excelant' if you prefer) school for trolls in Montgomery, Alabama. You should spend the entire 2 months there.

traveller Jul 12th, 2002 04:08 PM

Maybe you should visit some national parks. the united states has amazing and breathtaking scenery.

Sayiru
What do you like? Cities or scenic beauty. Is there anything you have dreamed of seeing?

It is more fun to visit with people who can show you around. Do you have other friends or relatives in the US?

More information would help us to help you!

Kutsu Jul 12th, 2002 05:26 PM

I think you'd enjoy Las Vegas, California, Colorado and New York. I wouldn't bother going to Florida though. There are many beautiful areas in the USA. I welcome you and hope you have a wonderful vacation.

Cousin "is". Hmmm. Any relation to Cousin "it"?

Lori Jul 12th, 2002 05:57 PM

since you will be in new york, why not take a quick trip to niagara falls...just a day trip will do. Possibly the Cape Cod National Seashore for scenic beauty. The Grand Canyon is breathtaking. Drive down the coast of California for more scenic beauty. This country is so big it's impossible to see everything there is to see, but these are just some suggestions.

I've never called anyone a troll on this board, and I won't start now, BUT...

From watching my parents learn English, and teaching English myself, I will tell you that among the first words that you learn how to say (and spell...and not apt to forget) are:

Hello
Please
My name is...
Good bye
Thank you.

sayuri: not all Americans are the pricks you see represented on this forum. Had you posted your question under almost any other state you would have received only valid responses.

America has amazing landscapes that you can find nowhere else in the word. Many Americans, particularly those living along the coasts, like NY, don't even know this. Be sure to hit some of the national parks out west and you will not be disapointed. Las Vegas happens to be fairly close to a few in Southern Utah and Arizona that are amazing, such as Bryce Canyon, Zion, Arches, the Canyonlands, and the Grand Canyon National Parks. There are many more right in that area.
I know a troll when I hear one. Do any any of you think you would know contractions like "I'm" or words like "pardon" before knowing how to spell "Thank you"? P.T Barnum was correct as usual.

Starting in the east.....from NY go to Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC. Make a trip to FL......bounce over to New Orleans and get on a boat that takes you up the Mississippi...stop at Natchez, Memphis, and St. Louis....Go up to Chicago and then go out west to our bigger National Parks in Arizona, Utah, and Wyoming....Make a trip down the West Coast stop in Seattle, San Fransisco, and Los Angeles.

That is somwhat of a cross-section of America......and it would take you more than 2 months. If you want to spend lots of time in certain regions and see typical America....I would just concentrate on the Washington DC, New York, Boston, Philadelphia section or the Mississippi river trip section

Thank you for correcting my speling. Thank you for good answers. I talk to my aunt in NY. She said she take me to see Liberty, Empire building and Time Square. I told her take me to Nagra Falls, she said yes. We also go to pray for people you lost in NY. US is so big I don't know were to start. I have a book that I read to learn about US. Grand Canyon is so prety in my book, I will see it and the other national parks. Will also go to California. I like the nice beach and good sceneri. I also want to learn about US history. NY has a lot of museums. Which one is best? Thank you for help.

Dear Japanese Teacher,
Although I am of Japanese decent, I speak English quite well. Your comments and post just further reinforces the redneck, racially ignorant, and intolerance that Americans have toward Asians. I'm sorry you feel this way, but as soon as you can get the white hood off your head, you can see that we're very much the same.

Wendy Jul 15th, 2002 01:01 PM

Japanese teacher,
WOW, it is INCREDIBLE how IGNORANT, and PROVINCIAL some people are that they somehow find JOY in making fun of other people. Somehow, it makes these LOW people feel better and more confident in themselves to try and embarrass others. What a shame other people have to put up with you. How old are you? You should be ashamed of yourself.

Definitely spend at least 1 week in New York City. Philadelphia, Boston, and Washington, DC have a lot of history. That will take at least 2-3 weeks. I would also recommend some time in our spectacular national parks: Yosemite(www.yosemitepark.com) Yellowstone(http://www.nps.gov/yell/) and
the Grand Canyon(http://www.nps.gov/grca/)

Las Vegas(www.goingtovegas.com) is also a great place to visit. While there, also take a tour of Hoover Dam. In northern Nevada I would also recommend Lake Tahoe(www.tahoeguide.com) and Reno(www.renolaketahoe.com). In California you should visit Los Angeles(www.la.worldweb.com), San Diego(www.sandiego.org), San Jose(www.sanjose.org) Monterey(www.monterey.com) and Carmel(www.carmelbythesea.com)

Have a great trip.

Sayuri: There is a wayward American named Billy from Alabama on another thread who is going to visit Japan with his wife and 5 kids and he needs your help. Maybe he can help you too.
