What should I have for lunch?

Any ideas?

Jim Mar 28th, 2002 07:44 AM

How about a Fromunder cheese sandwich?

Not2Fattening Mar 28th, 2002 08:32 AM

I'm having mine as I type-a can of Wolfgang Puck roasted chicken and vegetable soup.Yummmm.

Nutritionist Mar 28th, 2002 08:39 AM

Not2Fattening, apparently you didn't read the label on that can of Wolfgang Puck soup. His soups are extremely high in fat, that's why they're so good!

Not2Fattening Mar 28th, 2002 08:46 AM

Thank you for bursting that bubble! :0)
Of course I only looked at the calories-and you are sooo right, nothing tastey can really be non-fattening.

Just got a greek salad at Citeralla to go on 6th and 49th (NYC, of course). Yummy!

Please refer to trip report from McDonalds for ideas.

Michelle-
BOY have I been craving a nice Greek Salad lately...but here at 23rd and 6th there isn't anywhere (I know of) to get one...

Instead I got a yummy veggie quesadilla...mmm...

Suzanne: What about Mayrose on Broadway and 21st? Don't they have Greek salads? Also, what about the take-out at ABC?

suzanne Mar 28th, 2002 10:17 AM

Mayrose gets awfully crowded during lunch, I'll skip that.

How funny, I never even knew that the ABC furniture store had takeout. Isn't it funny - there's another furniture store out back here (on 22nd & 6th) that has takeout. And Bed Bath & Beyond has takeout too - hee hee!

IKEA sells Swedish meatballs for lunch. Ick.

Claudia Mar 28th, 2002 10:37 AM

I don't understand. There are furniture stores that sell take-out on the side?

What is the quality of the food?
What is the quality of the furniture?!?!

And there are people on this site that complain about those one-stop shopping places for groceries and clothing. I suppose you could go furniture shopping and eat your lunch in the Dining Room section.

Sheli

Sheli Mar 28th, 2002 10:39 AM

You know, if you are going to use a different name & email addy than your real name...you should at least make them match!

I still don't get it....food at a furniture store?

Me

Curious Mar 28th, 2002 10:40 AM

Well - what was the final outcome?

abc Mar 28th, 2002 10:50 AM

ABC Carpet and Home has a very nice cafe on the ground floor. You can get take/out from there.

hereis Mar 28th, 2002 11:15 AM

How about a nice kielbasa?

Watch Mar 28th, 2002 11:18 AM

How about a half turkey sandwich on whole wheat with lettuce, tomato, pickle, and dijon mustard; Yoplait yogurt; Fresca; two pieces Bazooka gum.

That's what I'm eating and I love it.

keel Mar 28th, 2002 11:19 AM

Met a friend at Little Bangkok, on 54th just east of 8th. They have a $6.50 lunch special - we both had pad thai, and the meal comes with soup and salad. There are better Thai places in the big city, but for a quick, unpretentious, tasty lunch they always come through.
