YankyGal. That has happened to a kid here on a field trip. The teacher had a chaperone stay behind and get the shoe recovered, because the right footware is way more important than the adult/student ration for child safety.
Another time, a metro died and we had to walk through the tunnels, which are lined with gravel. Upon arrival at the station a Parisienne went balistic demanding that they RATP replace her damaged heel! |
sf: where'd you eat in the city?
|
Lunch at a deli - Green Cafe, which was quite good - very fresh food, salad bar, wraps, paninis and the like. Dinner at - ta da - 2nd Avenue Deli - and the pastrami and corned beef are every bit as good as advertised - moist, reasonably lean, absolutely delicious.

If anyone is interested, here are the shoes of journalists, bloggers and fashionistas I saw last week while covering Paris Fashion Week.

Ooops. Forgot the link.

ankle booties and ballerina flats are the most popular here.

I guess you made this trip long ago, but my suggestion to those visiting NYC is to wear sensible walking shoes because one of the most entertaining thing to do there is to take rambling walks through its interesting neighborhoods, free of worry about what anybody is wearing in Paris.

Merci HTtY, I don't own sensible walking shoes, but I did just fine with the ones I did bring along. Had a lovely trip full of long strolls.

I went to the CHanel Haute Couture fashion show yesterday, so if you want to see what is chic in Paris today, check it out. www.FindingNoon.com

You can't out Parisienne the Parisians, but who really cares? New York's Street Chic is a lot more fun. : )

Ahhh Paris. Love the new fashions - mainly on the women - as the men seem to have lost their sense of identity.
As for shoes here in SD - mainly wear training/tennis shoes - except for when slipping on my trusty crocs. :) http://www.crocs.com/sandals-for-men...efault,sc.html |
