What's your favorite place to eat in Black, Mountain, NC?

Does anyone have any favorite restaurant spots in Black Mountain? Are the Red Rocker Inn and Veranda Cafe good choices? Any other recs? Thanks for any info. you can provide. Also curious, does this area kind of shut down on Sundays? Seems like a lot of the restaurants are closed then.

I love Veranda. Head to Asheville on Sunday, still plenty open there.

We looked at the Veranda menu, and it looks wonderful. I heard they have great desserts and baked goods too; my husband will definitely go for that!

There are some wonderful restos in the Lake Lure area, about a 30-45 min drive from Black Mountain that offer very freshly caught mountain trout. We used to love the Esmerelda Inn, but have heard it no longer. Will post names if I can remember specifics.

Our favorite casual place to eat in Black Mountain is My Fathers Pizza which has great pizzas, pasta dishes, salads & a hot & cold sandwiches. The outdoor dining area is wonderful with mountain views all around.

That sounds wonderful, mouse, and we definitely love something casual. Anything with a view is a great bonus.

We ended up eating at My Father's Pizza - really enjoyed sitting outside in the beautiful weather, had great pizza and microbrews and loved it. Also really loved Veranda Cafe; the homemade soups were delicious and the environment was charming. Thanks to everyone for the great recs.
