What is the "entertainment book"
 

And more importantly where do I get it? traveling to Oahu/Kauai in March, any other cost saving tips appreciated, car rental suggestions? inter-island flight discounts?

The Entertainment book is a book of various coupons and discount offerings, concentrating on restuarants, local attractions, and travel. There are separate books for different cities and major metropolitan areas. These books are used by many organizations as fund-raisers; you get volume discounts for purchaisng large quantities of books to re-sell -( think candy - bar fund raisers). <BR> <BR>For Hawaii, the Outrigger and Aston Hotel chain is represented, although so is Marriott/Renassaince(Sp). <BR> <BR>For a good deal in Wakiki, check out the Raddisson Prince Kuiho ; I found a $99/nt rate which INCLUDED brkt on their own website. <BR> <BR>Alamo seems to be the cheapest-if you are a COSTCO member, travel flyers located at the warehouses have COSTCO Alamo membership numbers that give you the BEST rate possible on a rental car - I should know, just came back from a 10 day trip in Hi., and used alamo exclusively- <BR> <BR>Also, for inter-island travel, Hawaiian Air sells individual inter-island flight coupons via Bank of Hawaii ATMs: they cost you $62 per coupon, which is good for any flight between the islands. <BR> <BR>Oh, here is the website for the Entertaiment books- <BR> <BR>http://www.entertainment.com/start.cfm?start=true

Alamo is the cheapest whether you are a Costco member or not. Try booking on their web-site. One disadvantage to booking online is that you will have trouble making changes, such as days requested, once you get to Hawaii. We've used Alamo for the past 2 years after researching each of the other company's rates.

Also want to add to the above postings that there are some hotels that don't advertise they accept the Entertainment Card but they will honour it if asked. The discounts you get are well worth the cost of the card.
