If sunny weather most of the year is very important to you, I would say it may be a problem. My brother, who lived in No Cal most of his life, relocated north of Seattle 3 years ago and loves it. Yes more rain and colder in the winter, but that doesn't bother him.

You've gotten lots of good, honest replies to your question. IMO, I gladly took the dreary wet winter days in Seattle to blustery, freezing, sunny days in other parts of the country. The time when Seattle's weather really "got to me" was April through June when I was really ready to feel some warm sunshine on my skin and still had very cool, wet, cloudy weather.

<<So, really, what is the day to day weather really like?>>

That question is absolutely impossible to answer imo. Every day is different here, every season is different year to year. It "just depends" would be the only honest answer.

I usually reply to this question with a flippant... Seattle has much better weather than people think it does. BUT this winter has been particularly bad. Loads of rain, snow, sleet, power outages, flooding, etc. Just bad news.

I grew up in Southern California, lived in New England for a time, and have been in Seattle for 2 decades now. I absolutely LOVE it here, but I do believe the weather would be a deal-breaker for many people (and it sounds like luv2plan may be one of them).

Today the sun is shining but it's cold.

and I *always* go to Mexico or Hawaii for a vacation in Jan or Feb.
