What is most important in choosing a vacation?
The location? The weather? The amenities (shopping, golf, beach)? The farhtest possible place away from in laws? Price? Or is it a combo affair?

For us, it has been - what stage of life are we in ? When the kids were small, it was road trips, keeping a lookout for parks. Elementary school age- it was short flights and what kind of pool do they have. When our youngest was 12, we took on Europe.
Now it's a mix of active vacations, and a few getaways just for Dad and Mom.

What is important to us is getting away from cities, traffic and people. We enjoy nature and it's scenic wonders.

Utahtea

For us it is a combination of elements. We live in the Northeast. In winter WARM is what we are seeking, a beautiful beach to thaw out on. It is wonderful going to the Caribbean when it is winter in our home town. A good price also plays an important role. Some history, exploring and diverse activities besides just laying on a beach are also great to throw in. I am not much into repeating a place I have been to previously, even if I liked it we like to try a different destination.

Me! Me! Me! I am the most important aspect of choosing a vacation! It's all about me! Me Me Me!

If I'm happy, we're all happy, if I'm miserable so is everyone else!

For me, it's how much value I'm getting for my vacation dollar. I like to get as far away and stay in as nice a place as I can within my budget. Also, places that aren't overrun with other tourists, places that are not the usual vacation destinations are important to me.
